We need to move home as we need more space but we are not sure when is the best time of year to sell a house. Can you advise?
The simple answer to this is that properties sell all year round.
It does tend to go a little quieter during school holidays but there are always buyers looking for new homes. There are those that are relocating for work, or are keen to move because a new baby is on their way or because circumstances have changed, and they are on the hunt for properties in every month of the year.
It would appear that uncertainty over a March Brexit may have made the start of this year a little quieter than usual. However, with Brexit now delayed, it seems that people aren’t willing/able to wait until October, so we are seeing lots of new activity.
Also, do bear in mind that you only need one person to look at your house and like it enough to make you an offer. Sometimes it is quality over quantity when it comes to buyers.
So, in short, any time is a good time to sell your home!
